A field guide for new hosts
Eight seats. One host install.
Set up the Far Far West Frostburn 8-player mod with the included one-click installer. No PowerShell, manual mod folders, or separate UE4SS download required.
Recommended: use the Windows ZIP. It contains Setup.exe, a VI/EN quick guide, and SHA-256 checksums.

- 03 Run FFWFrostburn8-Setup.exe
- 04 Create a room with Allow mods on
Before you ride
Who installs what?
The safest test setup is deliberately simple. Do not install extra tools on every PC.
The host receives the mod, UE4SS runtime, compatibility settings, and automatic backup in one pass.
- Close Far Far West before installing
- Use the exact supported game build
- Turn on Allow mods when creating the room
Guests install nothing for this host-only experiment. This is necessary to test vanilla-client compatibility honestly.
- Use the same Far Far West version as the host
- Do not install UE4SS or FFWFrostburn8
- Join by room code or Steam Invite
- 01 Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit
- 02 Far Far West is fully closed

Installation
From download to lobby
Follow these steps in order. The installer detects Steam libraries automatically and refuses to change files while the game is running.
Choose FFWFrostburn8-Windows-x64.zip from the newest release. Do not use GitHub's green Code button or either Source code archive.
Right-click the ZIP, choose Extract All, then open the extracted folder. Running Setup from inside the ZIP can prevent its embedded files from loading correctly.
Open FFWFrostburn8-Setup.exe, confirm the detected Far Far West folder, then choose Install / Cài. Wait for the success message before closing it.
Start the game normally. When creating a network room, enable Allow mods before choosing the room type, then invite your vanilla guests.
Success check
Look for 1 host + 7 Invite slots
With the host alone in an Allow mods room, Current Session should show eight live rows: your host row and seven Invite buttons.
- The game reaches the title screen without a new crash
- An Allow mods room shows all eight session rows
- A normal room still shows the original four rows
